About

Built for nurses who work nights.

ShiftNight exists because day-shift sleep advice does not map cleanly to a nurse getting home at 7 AM. The product starts with that reality.

Built with nurse feedback

ShiftNight was not designed in a vacuum. Every feature was shaped by conversations with night shift nurses across ICU, ER, med-surg, and travel roles.

Real schedule testing

Nurses working 7p-7a, 11p-7a, and rotating patterns tested early prototypes and gave direct feedback on what actually helps after a 12-hour shift.

Guidance, not commands

Nurses told us they already know they need more sleep. They wanted flexible suggestions around their real lives, not rigid prescriptions. That feedback drives our permissive design.

Privacy by default

Apple Health data is not uploaded to ShiftNight servers. Detailed diagnostics sync only after consent and exclude HealthKit samples, biometrics, audio, free text, and raw onboarding dumps.

No medical claims

ShiftNight is a sleep companion, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace advice from your healthcare provider.

Our research standards

Every article and recommendation on ShiftNight is grounded in peer-reviewed research. We hold ourselves to a strict citation standard so you can trust what you read here.

1

Peer-reviewed sources only

We cite studies from PubMed, the CDC, the NIH, and established sleep research journals. Every source links directly to the original paper or report.

2

Independent verification

Before any article goes live, each citation is independently verified. We confirm the paper title, journal, and publication year match the linked source. If a source cannot be verified, we remove the claim entirely.

3

Regular content reviews

Sleep research evolves. We review published articles regularly to ensure accuracy and update citations when newer evidence becomes available.

4

Transparent sourcing

Every article includes a full sources section at the bottom with direct links. You can verify our claims yourself. Browse our research articles.
